Improve Male Fertility
There is no shortage of evidence to show that fertility rate in men has been on the decline over the past several decades. Almost everything including diet, alcohol, recreational drug use to environmental pollutants such as dioxin are linked to decreasing male fertility rates. In fact, I came across a recent study conducted by Dr David Glenn at Queen's University which concludes that even the use of popular male erection enhancing drug Viagra will reduce the quality of the sperm produced by males. So what can then be done to improve male fertility? In short, very little can be done about the factors you can not control, your environment for example, unless you are will to move to the country side. However, much can be done to improve male fertility with things that you do control such as your life style. By focusing on improving your lifestyle by either minimizing the use of drugs such as alcohol and tobacco and by changing your diet you can greatly improve male fertility in a short period of time. Which lifestyle changes will yield the best results toward improving male fertility? Since there isn’t one single factor contributing to low sperm count in men, there also isn’t a single lifestyle change which will make you more fertile. In other words, instead of one single change, you need to make many small changes to get the desired results of increasing sperm count and sperm motility. Some of the things you can change in your lifestyle include reducing alcohol consumption, minimizing your smoking (if you are a smoker), cutting out foods rich in fats and salt. Another factor which is often overlooked is “daily exercise”, make sure you get at least 20-30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise which will make your body strong, healthy, and capable of producing strong sperm. In addition to making lifestyle changes, your body needs essential amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and omega fatty acids in order to improve fertility. Amino acids such as Arginine and vitamins such as Vitamin B-12 are essential to the production of high quality and high quantity sperm cells. Minerals such as Zinc help to promote proper functioning of the sperm and rest of the male reproductive system. While this may seem like a lot of vitamins and minerals to take, most of these are packaged in a small little capsule or pill form by manufactures and promoted as “fertility aid” supplements. These fertility Aid or sperm increasing supplements have been around for a long time and can help improve overall male sexual health and male fertility.
